TV? Or Computer?

The two articles above discuss an ongoing trend in the media world; combining Internet and television/film. Heavy investment by companies like Intel, Apple, Sony, Panasonic, and other less known companies are already occurring to make accessing the Internet through your television possible. And websites like Hulu and Netflix are trying the reverse; bringing television and film to your computer.

I think the movement most likely to succeed will be bringing Internet to television. Many Americans have spent the last few years buying massive LCD flat-screen televisions, most for thousands of dollars. And with prices expected to fall this year ( http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2337246,00.asp) I think this trend will accelerate. People with these televisions are not likely to make the same investment for a computer monitor with the same features (mainly size and quality). And people that do not have one of these televisions are unlikely to divert their money to something else, as they have already had the goal of buying the flashy, trendy devices for some time.

Just my thoughts...

Until we meet again, goodbye!
